Monitoting services from different location then I have SCOM 2012 R2

Hello
I am interested inthe ability to monitorservices (particularlyin theExchangeOWA) from a differentlocationthan I haveplacedSCOMserver.Ienvironmentofdifferent networksand branches.I don´t want to pay forGSM(GlobalServiceMonitor)I there some kind of "probe" orsimplifiedSCOM?I do not havethe opportunity totakeinevery branch ofsuch agreatperformance onSCOM, connnectivity speed between branches is not problem.

Performance counters are not always removed when APM is disabled

On several occasions I've noticed that even after:

  1. removing a server from the target group of all APM management packs
  2. waiting until IISReset is required
  3. doing the IISReset

still some .NET APPS performance counters linger on or maybe gets recreated when load (out of my control) hits the server.

Profiling the IIS process using Visual Studio I see no use of PerfMon64, so I looks like APM is disabled on the server, but why isn't the performance counter(s) gone?

Web Console install error

Downgrading SCOM database from SQL 2012 Enterprise to SQL 2012 Standard

Hello-

My manager has given me the task of downgrading our SCOM database that is SQL server 2012 Enterprise down to SQL seever Standard 2012.

We also have SCOM ACS and that database should me downgraded from SQL 2012 Enterprise to SQL 2012 Standard.

Can this be done and if so, can you guys provide the steps to get this accomplished ?

Can SCOM 2012 monitor all websites (endpoints) under a parent web domain. For example if i have a website called www.nichito.com, can I configure SCOM to monitor all the websites under that domain automatically and without having to explicitely add every website individually? tfs 2013 scom integration

Good morning

I have a little problem about tfs 2013 and scom 2012 r2 integration, I would like to have possibility to forward exceptions from Application monitoring to tfs - I have followed instructions on technet and I am able to connect to tfs, retrieve project collections from scom. I have also found new Work Item type Operational Issue in tfs and new status in scom called Assigned to Engineering. But unfortunately when I do change status from New to Assigned to Engineering I am receiving update status but these alerts doesn't show on tfs side.

I have been tracing Windows events in tfs and scom but I can't see anything strange. Do you have any advices for that - how to check if something is blocked on tfs side or scom side? Where I should look into?

I have been having issues with the SLA Tiles widget in the dashboards, i have created new service level tracking which didn't fix anything, i have run a repair on Ops-manager and still nothing?

No data in Application failure Analysis report for a particular application alone.

Dear All, 

We are not able to get the data in Application Failure Analysis report from Appadvisor for a particular application(say ABC) alone, whereas it works fine for different application. Also,we could get the data from other reports(such as Application status,Problem distribution analysis,etc) for the same application(ABC). PFB snapshot for your reference.

hello im new in snmp and im trying to find some usefull information for a router-switch that i have connecte

How many network interfaces does the main target host have?How many datagrams/packets (IP and ICMP) that have been received?

How many ping messages have been received by the target host? 

Are there any network devices connected to this switch, if so give details of the network interfaces of the connected device? 

How long has this SNMP agent been running?

How many datagrams have been sent by the target host Which ports of the host are currently active?

How many segments that have been received by the target host?

How many SNMP Get-Request PDUs have been accepted and processed by the 3COM switch Which ports are not available for traffic? 

What is the CPU utilization of the router attached to the main target host?

its only available for Tomcat servers

Monitoring Tomcat 8

Currently the management pack for Java Application Performance Monitoring does not appear to support tomcat 8 at all and I cannot locate an updated version that does support monitoring tomcat 8.  Is there a management pack I am missing or is the existing management pack going to be updated?

How to view performance data for Windows Server machines?

Hello guys!

I have SCOM 2012 R2 with latest updates and several VM's with Windows Server 2012 R2. I have installed agents on theese machines and they all show under "Windows Computer" view.

But when i expand "Microsoft Windows Server" folder i cannot see any data in any view.

Could u give me a clue how did that happened?

Tomcat Discovery Failing

I am still working on my POC for tomcat monitoring that I made a post about last week.  Everything worked for a few days but then my tomcat 7 and tomcat 8 instances stopped collecting data.  I tried disabling and re-enabling deep monitoring but when I do that i get the below result:

S After some digging several I tried removing and readding the tomcat 7 and tomcat 8 management packs.  The same DISCOVERY_NOT_FOUND error persists and what I am seeing in the Tomcat Server -> Applications area for both tomcat 7 and tomcat 8 instances is that they are in a Not Monitored state.

I'm tempted to completely remove and re-add the JEE management packs but I'm concerned that will break things worse at this point since tomcat 5 & 6 monitoring are working fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Unable to discover some IIS 8 servers.

Cheers All,

I am running into an odd situation where I am able to discover IIS 7/8 installed on some servers, but unable to discover the same setup on others. Everything is on the same network and the server builds are extremely similar. The agents are not throwing errors that I can see, nor is SCOM 2012 r2 itself.

Any ideas on where I can look next to find potential issues would be appreciated.
