Hello,

After having successfully configured APM Client Side Monitoring for a number of apps, for some odd reason if I want to check the reports available under the "Client Side Monitoring" section in AppAdvisor , this is displayed completely empty as it can be seen in the following screenshot:

In case anyone wonders, the answer is yes, Client Side Monitoring is enabled and reporting successfully in SCOM and in AppDiagnostics. Additionally, let me confirm that I've already overridden the Discovery Rules for IIS and APM and everything but this is working as expected. Could someone please shed some light onto why this may be happening or how could I fix it?

PS: If it helps, the web apps in question reside on D:\AppsFolder rather than in the default location (C:\inetpub\wwwroot)  I figured it may have something to do with it so I added the IIS_USERS Group and the Run As Account user as well with full permissions just for grins but sadly to no avail.

Hi 

I want to monitor azure instances using SCOM 2012.

Our platform is we have installed scom in our DC and two VNET is created in Azure and in these VNETs we have multiple instances with windows applications. We want to monitor basic OS monitoring and applications monitoring for these instances using SCOM. I planned to create one SCOM gateway server in one of the VNET and integrate this with our SCOM which is there in on-premises DC. Could someone help me to configure below steps.

1. Install and integrate SCOM gateway server to the SCOM server which is in on-premises.

2. Install scom agent in all the azure instances

3. configure SCOM monitoring for the instances

Hi All,

Our Azure application is logging its event data directly to a Azure storage table bypassing WAD. With this setup, can we monitor the data getting logged into these Storage tables using SCOM 2012? 

For eg: i have a eventID column in this storage table. if a row is getting inserted into this table with eventid = 100, i want to apply a monitor on it. 

Is it possible?

I would like to use APM for monitoring standalone .NET application running as a service (not on IIS). I have found some information, that it is possible in SCOM 2012 sp1 but no information about R2.

Is it possible to do it using SCOM 2012 R2?

I have a quick question, I have implemented SCOM 2012 R2 APM and we have mutliple applications currently running however, when viewing them in the Application View in Diagnostics, several of them are grayed out. And will cycle between N/A on the states and then eventually showing data and then graying out again. Is there any specific reason for this? There are some applications that don't do this but other that constantly flip back and forth.

Hello all,<o:p></o:p>

This is the
second time I am going through this.<o:p></o:p>

we use a computer that runs in Windows 8 and we only work in our database using SQL 2012. Our desktop it’s an HPZ620 we
packaged with 96G of RAM as we wanted to avoid any memory issues with it.<o:p></o:p>

we have previously had the same not enough memory issue and we end up needing to re image the
computer (this creating a lots of problems with our data users)<o:p></o:p>

after 3 months with no issues, now we have the same scenario.<o:p></o:p>

1.Message of not enough memory -Applications are slow, not working at all and had to
close once the notification appears.<o:p></o:p>

2. Paging file is now up to 201 Gigabits.<o:p></o:p>

3. Task Manager shows a memory usage of 7.7/95.2 GB (8%) and waiting to be used.<o:p></o:p>

4. Hard Drive is up to 100% every time an application is running but memory is never up
to 10% usage.<o:p></o:p>

is there away to resolve this issue, we went very openly on resources to avoid issues and
now our system is not working, I forced the paging file to be less than 201G,
but that has not resolved the issue.<o:p></o:p>

Can someone guide me on this?<o:p></o:p>

Hi

I have configured JEE MPs for JBoss 6 with java 6 (running on Windows server 2008 R2) in SCOM 2012 R2 but none of the application server is being discovered and monitored. I have also configured Agent proxy settings on those servers.

MPs which I have imported are as follows:
-Microsoft.JEE.JBoss.6.mp
-Microsoft.JEE.JBoss.Library.mp
-Microsoft.JEE.Templates.Library.mpb
-Microsoft.JEE.Library.mpb


The customer access their application servers through a load balancer (Radware). To get a direct access  to their application servers, they will need to open ports for them.

Please suggest me what should I do.  I am stuck on this activity from last three days. 

Any help will be really appreciated.

Are there any known issues with SCOM 2012 R2 agent version - 7.1.10184.0 with SharePoint application monitoring. I've seen that the SharePoint sites loading slowly and getting timed out (event ID 7043) most of the times. After agent uninstall, the sites started working fine.

Is this fixed in Update Roll 2 package as mentioned in Issue 3 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2929891) ??

Hi,

Installed the connector available under here:

However, the alert status is "Forward Pending". What can be the reason behind it?

Anyone have the correct configuration steps for this connector? Following warning message logged every second in event viewer:
Exception in timer function:No such host is known

Any suggestions much appreciated!!

Hello,

I am getting an alert in my SCOM 2012 for most of my Systems.i have done many things to solve this issue but bear no fruit  :(.

The System Center Management Health Service 123-31234  running on host xxx-xxxx.Root.net and serving management group with id {0407FB6F-896A-7389-EA01-D60C72ABBD5A} is not healthy. Some system rules failed to load.

I restarted the Service System center Management Service,also delete the folder health service State folder to clear the cache,but still the problem is there.i get the above alert.

Please can someone helpe here????????

Dears,

My customer have Applications deployed on his windows server, and he wants to monitor this application.

The applications drop into 2 kinds:

• Web application (Not Java) its HTML with ASP or PHP coding with Databases
• 32 Bit Applications with Databases

I want to know below:

1. A link that help me to determine the applicable applications for monitoring (I need to determine this before deploying SCOM).
2. For performance monitoring, A link that help me to know if I can monitor the performance or not.

At some customer we get this OpsMgr events and we haven't yet start to use the SCOM APM function but the APM MPs is installed.

We've been testing APM in SCOM 2012 R2 and are about to put it in to production. When creating a new application to monitor and doing all the setup, it asks for an IIS reset of the host running the application. What changes are actually made inside IIS or the application when this happens? I can't find anything that explains it, just lots of references to actually doing the IIS reset before it works so clearlysomething changes.

Hi guys,

I've got the below environment setup:

SCOM 2012R2 UR3

Exchange 2013SP1 

OS: Win2012R2

I've set agents to act as proxy as well. The Exchange 2013 MP already reports the health of all monitors however doesn't monitor performance, configuration and availability of any of them and consequently SLA reports don't work

am I missing anything?

Does anyone know how to monitor and alert based on number of messages on an Azure Service Bus queue (not the on-premise Service Bus)?

Hi,

I've created a new APM.NET Test via .NET Application Performance Monitoring Template and after following all the steps provided by Kevin Greene in the URL: http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.de/2012/03/scom-2012-configuring-application_49.html and when I reach the part to enable the CSM I found it null with nothing to be enabled (the Check Client-Side Monitoring Compatibility’ task is finished successfully ).

Why Enable CSM is empty? How to show the application Is this affecting the APM monitoring results?

P.S.

- We are now using SCOM2012R2 with CU2 (with only R2, we faced an outage due to the SCOM R2 Agents was not compatible with the version of SCOM APM in R2, and the CU2 is supposed to solve this problem)

I have a very strange issue where we refreshed the servers in our farm with newer VM's (P2V) and migrated the IIS7 websites to the new VMs.  they all run fine and dandy all set to use shared configuration and content hosted on DFS share.

Had no issues with SCOM and this setup prior to the refresh. 

Now the IIS7.0 asp.net web applications all disappeared. I worked with MS support and set a privileged user profile to no avail.

I then did a UR3 upgrade on another environment which upgraded the agents and wala everything started discovering.

I set up my APM's and things were working, until tonight and everything just magically disappeared!

Does anyone have ANY idea what might be going on here?

I am getting numerous SCOM Heath Monitor alerts for the following 2 conditions:

AD Domain Availability Health Degraded
AD Site Availability Health Degraded

I have searched the internet for scripts to reset them each all at once. I have found a couple of scripts and ran them in the SCOM Shell and they say that that are resetting the alerts but in actuality, they don't.
The scripts I used were found at these 2 sites:

I have added a .NET application to monitor on SCOM 2012 R2 through .Net Application Monitoring wizard. The .NET app is only raising alerts for Application_start (global.aspx) and Web API when it should raise lots of alerts related to performance for different pages throughout the app.

• In order to be able to select this app from the wizard, I had to override the discovery rule in SCOM so that it looks for an asax page rather than an aspx page in the root folder. 

Any ideas please?

N.B. I've set the thresholds low for performance.
